Composites Technology Instructor
Aidan Collins is the newest addition the ACT – Advanced Composites Training team, serving in the capacity of Composites Technology Instructor.
Aidan’s early interest in aircraft lead him to enroll in the Aerospace Engineering program at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario in 2007. After a time, he found more enjoyment in the practical application of engineering methods. In 2010 he left Ryerson to enroll in the Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Technology program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Three years later he graduated with honours and won the coveted “Board of Governors’ Award” for outstanding contribution to student life while maintaining academic excellence.
In a serendipitous turn of events, Aidan found employ in the oil & gas industry, quickly becoming a skilled Field Specialist in oil well cementing (2013). Following the market decline in 2016, Aidan took the opportunity to pursue a career more in line with his educational background.
Through contacts in the aerospace industry he discovered Advanced Composites Training, where his keen talents for technology and instruction were noticed. Aidan has always had a passion for teaching, and has constantly mentored his peers in and out of the workplace.
